I was inspired by a Chardin still life painting that included a pear to create photographs of just pears. I was concerned with representations of female sexuality in art and photography, including an Edward Weston photograph of a female back that resembles a pear. These pears are coated in cosmetics, stitched with surgeon's needles and decayed, among other things.
